Star Jasmine Opusunju – DrPH, MSEd, MCHES, CPH

Dr. Opusunju is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Public Health at Baylor University and serves as the Director of the MPH Online Program. She is an accomplished public health professional approaching 20 years of experience in community-based practice focused on advancing health equity. The scope of her practice and community-engaged research includes health behavior, the built environment, the social determinants of health, food systems, and health equity through community-driven solutions among underserved and minority populations. She serves as the Executive Director of CAN DO Houston, a community-based organization that advances healthy living by addressing systemic barriers to good health through community-driven solutions in Houston/Harris County. Her work in this capacity has facilitated grassroots approaches to innovative and evidence-based interventions to the built and physical environments while informing equitable policy to promote access to opportunities for active living and healthy eating in low-resourced communities. She has extensive experience in community engagement, capacity building, and leadership and advocacy training to promote environmental changes essential for facilitating health equity and the opportunity to achieve health and quality of life for all.

Landon Lewis was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas then moved to Waco, Texas to attend Baylor University. After graduating from Baylor with a BBA in accounting and management, he worked in town as the Accounting Analyst at American Income Life Insurance Company before taking time off to focus on writing. After the time off, he worked at Central Freight Lines as a Rate Auditor then a Staff Accountant. He is currently an Accountant at SimpleBills.

While at Baylor, Landon was introduced to the Waltz, Tango, Fox Trot, Rumba, Cha Cha, and East Coast Swing through his social dance class. Since then, he has continued to learn and dance. He also served as a continuing education ballroom dance instructor for Baylor and McLennan Community College. He is currently the President of USA Dance Waco.

When he is not dancing, Landon enjoys writing, thinking, reading, and following basketball and football. He is also an active member of Toastmasters International and his church, Redeemer Waco.
