“There’s only one thing more precious than our time and that’s who we spend it on.” - Leo Christopher

There are 1,440 minutes in a day. During a busy day of meetings, errands and appointments, the span of a minute hardly seems like enough time to get anything done. This past year we learned how to value the time we are given and began to practice how we could easily make a minute matter during a busy day. You can take a minute to make yourself a fresh cup of coffee, make your bed, respond to that email you’ve been putting off, or simply tell someone you love them. You can take a minute to close your eyes and relax for a moment.

Far too often we take spare minutes for granted, not recognizing them as pockets of peace throughout the day. Family Abuse Center has taught me how a minute can drastically change another’s life. On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States, equaling more than 10 million women and men a year. Numbers play a critical part in domestic violence awareness, but these victims are more than just a number to us. We watch shattered lives rebuild during the time in the shelter. Join us in the fight against domestic violence by making the next minute matter.

We’re looking forward to bringing back our annual fundraiser next fall, but until then, The Bernard and Audre Rapoport Foundation has graciously given Family Abuse Center a matching grant. Starting now, every dollar you donate will be matched up to $25,000, raising $50,000 in total! You can contribute by mail or online at our website by clicking the donate button at the top right corner of this page.

Minute to minute, dollar to dollar, these things make a difference in the battle to eliminate domestic violence. Help support Family Abuse Center as we take precious time to create a space and offer services to support victims of domestic violence. We are so thankful for the support we have received over the years and can’t wait to bring back Dancing with the Waco Stars!
