General Description and Purpose:

The goal of the Administrative Intern is to support the daily administrative, financial and operational functions of the Family Abuse Center. This position assists the Director of Finance with ensuring efficient office operations and assists in maintaining organized office systems. The Administrative Intern plays a key role in creating a welcoming environment for clients and visitors while upholding confidentiality and trauma-informed care practices.

TIME REQUIREMENTS:

  • One (1) semester (Summer or Fall 2026)
  • About 10 – 20 hours per week; flexible
  • FAC Staff Meetings first Wednesday of the month at 2 pm (Encouraged)
  • Occasional weekends depending on scheduled activities
  • Occasional evenings depending on scheduled activities

Education/Experience:

  • Junior or Senior preferred
  • Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources, Communications or related fields
  • Experience working with people of diverse backgrounds
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE Administrative Office INTERN

Administrative Support

  • Assist with front desk operations including answering and directing calls
  • Greeting visitors and ensure appropriate access while maintaining client safety and confidentiality
  • Support filing systems, data entry and record maintenance
  • Assist in preparing documents such as board packets and reports
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and general office communication

Finance & HR Support

  • Assist the Finance Department with basic tasks such as filing, data entry and document preparation
  • Preform administrative and operational tasks as assigned by supervisor
  • Provide occasional support to other departments when needed
