Healthy Outcomes through Prevention and Early Support
HOPES, which stands for Healthy Outcomes through Prevention and Early Support, is a free support program for parents and caregivers of children ages 0-5 in McLennan County. The program is provided by Family Abuse Center of Waco, Texas and is a Texas Parents as Teachers affiliate. By supporting early childhood development with education, resources and community connections, HOPES aims to strengthen families and provide a foundation for long-term healthy development in children. HOPES educators and staff utilize their knowledge and resources to ensure that parents and caregivers receive the support needed in raising young children. This includes assisting families to develop goals and objectives centering on family well-being, child development, healthy outcomes, and connections to community resources. One program that families can be connected with through HOPES is the Texas Parents as Teachers Program, a home visitation initiative available to families that qualify. HOPES educators and staff work together to continue case management relationships with families who enter our program and help to obtain other resources that could be beneficial to families within the community.
