GENERAL DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE:
The goal of the Fundraising Intern is to support the Development Department in securing financial resources to sustain and grow the mission of the Family Abuse Center. This position assists with donor relations, fundraising campaigns, grant support, and event coordination. The fundraising intern helps strengthen community partnerships and donor engagement while ensuring organized and efficient fundraising processes.
TIME REQUIREMENTS:
- One (1) semester (Summer 2026)
- About 10 – 20 hours per week; flexible
- FAC Staff Meetings first Wednesday of the month at 2 pm (Encouraged)
- Occasional weekends depending on scheduled activities
- Occasional evenings depending on scheduled activities
Education:
- Junior or Senior preferred
- Nonprofit Management, Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, and/or related fields
- Experience working with people of diverse backgrounds
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care
Experience:
- 1 year experience in the field of Domestic Violence or working with children who have experienced trauma preferred, or the same amount of residential services and/or case management experience.
- Experience in social, educational, child development or human service field required.

- Comfortable interacting with community members, sponsors, and donors
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Basic knowledge of social media and marketing tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Canva experience is a plus
- Professional, reliable, and proactive
License/Credentials:
- Valid Texas Driver's License and clear driving record.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PROGRAM COORDINATOR:
- Assist in planning and coordinating fundraising events, including:
- Dancing with the Waco Stars
- Fund a Need Bingo
- Support event logistics such as vendor coordination, timelines, and materials
- Help manage guest lists, ticket tracking and sponsorships
- Support day-of-event operations to ensure smooth execution
- Assist with sponsor outreach and tracking, including follow-ups and confirmations
- Help prepare sponsorship materials, packets, and donor communications
- Assist with tracking fundraising revenue, sponsorships, and donations
- Assist with data entry and tracking for fundraising efforts
