SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Grant Manager Intern will support institutional fundraising efforts through grant research, writing, and reporting. This role provides hands-on experience in grant development, funder relations, and nonprofit storytelling.

The intern will assist in identifying funding opportunities, preparing grant materials, and ensuring deadlines are met—playing a direct role in securing funding that sustains FAC programs.

EDUCATION:

  • Junior or Senior preferred
  • Current college student or recent graduate in Communications, English, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or related field
  • Experience working with people of diverse backgrounds
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care

TIME REQUIREMENTS:

  • Spring 2026 or Summer 2026 semester
  • About 10 – 20 hours per week; flexible
  • FAC Staff Meetings first Wednesday of the month at 2 pm (Encouraged)
  • Occasional weekends depending on scheduled activities
  • Occasional evenings depending on scheduled activities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Grant Research & Prospecting

  • Research and identify foundation, corporate, and government grant opportunities
  • Build and maintain a grant prospect pipeline aligned with FAC programs
  • Track potential funders and submission requirements

Grant Writing & Submission Support

  • Assist in drafting grant proposals, letters of inquiry (LOIs), and applications
  • Support preparation of supporting documents, budgets, and attachments
  • Help ensure submissions meet funder guidelines and deadlines

Grant Management & Reporting

  • Maintain and update the grants calendar, including deadlines and reporting requirements
  • Assist in preparing and submitting grant reports and funder updates
  • Track grant outcomes and ensure compliance with funding requirements

Funder Communications & Storytelling

  • Help develop compelling impact narratives and program descriptions
  • Assist in aligning grant messaging with overall fundraising campaigns
  • Support creation of reports and updates for funders

Administrative & Data Support

  • Maintain organized records of grant submissions, reports, and funder communications
  • Assist with data tracking related to grant revenue and outcomes
  • Collaborate with program staff to gather data and impact stories
