Alpha Chi Omega – Baylor University “Break the Silence” – November 11

The sorority, Alpha Chi Omega, has nationally chosen domestic violence as their cause.  Here in Waco, they are incredibly supportive of Family Abuse Center.  Tonight (November 11, 2013) is their major fundraiser called “Break the Silence.”  It is a singing competition and all the funds raised will help support Family Abuse Center. They hope to raise more than $10,000!That is not all they do for us.  Weekly they donate meals for the clients.  They provide special seasonal parties for the children living in the shelter and provide many volunteer hours working with our kids.  They do several diaper drives for us.  They are the best!Thank you, Alpha Chi Omega, for your generous spirit and your commitment to a great cause.  Let’s all break the silence about domestic violence.

Day of Remembrance – October 22, 2013 5:30 pm

October 22, Tuesday, 5:30 p.m. family, friends and staff of Family Abuse Center will gather at the Waco Suspension Bridge to remember those who have died in domestic violence situations.  This short, but important memorial time will include a proclamation from the Mayor, sharing by family members, a reading of names of those who died in our area in 2012 and a time of reflection.

Join us to remember.
