Shelter

The FamilyAbuseCenter provides 24 hour shelter for victims of domestic violence. Our shelter is a 60 bed facility, offering 3 meals per day and healthy snacks, private rooms for families as well as a single women’s room. We provide individual counseling, group therapy, life skills and financial planning classes, as well as legal advocacy. Typically, 60 - 70% of our shelter population includes children. It is important for children to have structure in their lives, especially children witnessing violence in their home. We strive to provide that at the Shelter with evening activity groups, individual, group, and family counseling, case management, and crisis intervention for children of all ages.
