The Family Abuse Center Needs Your Financial Support
When victims of abuse arrive at FAC, they rely on us for food, shelter, medications, clothing, and transportation. FAC staff also provides assistance in completing and submitting applications for housing, food stamps, Medicaid, assistance with legal solutions, and counseling for both adults and children who are dealing with the emotional upheaval domestic violence can create.
FAC clients are starting over, and they need help in every aspect of their lives. Most have never held a job, balanced a checkbook, paid the bills, or even bought their own groceries. They are building a new life for themselves and their children. FAC is there to support them as they spread their wings.
Family Abuse Center provides three meals each day for as many as sixty people, so the kitchen needs bread, meat, vegetables and fruit. Warm beds require sheets, blankets and pillows. The laundry room needs detergent and bleach, and the computer room needs electricity. In the winter, natural gas provides warm bedrooms. In summer, the shelter provides relief from the blistering heat and a playground for children out of school.
Family Abuse Center is a home for those who need safety, shelter and support. The generosity of individuals, organizations and businesses keeps the doors open, the lights on, and dinner on the table. Because our supporters care deeply about those who come to the Family Abuse Center for help, we can continue to provide that sanctuary.
